Intel Modular Server wins 2008 Server Product of the Year!
On
June 11, the EPSD Modular Server team was awarded the coveted Techworld "Server Product of the Year". Carol Thomann and Phillip Day (pictured to the left) accepted the award on behalf of the team at the 2008 Techworld
award ceremony in London.
Jared Leavitt, Intel Modular Server product line marketing manager, explains, "We
have created a new server category with this product line and this award
reflects that. The market evolved from pedestal
server to racks server in the mid-90s and then to blade
servers. We have now created the first diskless server with an
integrated SAS based SAN and a new server category we call “modular
servers”. With this product-line we have removed the cost and complexity
hurdle for small and medium businesses for adopting Enterprise
technology."
